Enable Custom Checks

Directives and Validators allow you to custom-tailor Fuzzing Hero scans to your technology stack and business rules. Once you have created a custom check, you must enable it on your collection before running a scan.

Enabling Directives and Validators

  1. Navigate to the Collections page from the left sidebar and click on the collection you wish to edit.
  2. Click Settings in the top-right corner of the requests view.
  3. Select the Scan Categories tab in the settings sidebar.
  4. Scroll down to the Directives & Validators section.
  5. Search and filter for your custom directives or validators.
  6. Check the checkbox next to each Directive or Validator you want to enable for this collection's scans. Otherwise, you can select All Applicable Directives or All Applicable Validators to enable everything and automatically use new directives and validators without having to reconfigure each time.
  7. Click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the modal.

Troubleshooting Visibility

If a Directive or Validator does not appear in your collection settings:

  • Verify Visibility Settings: Custom checks are bound by privacy isolation rules. A Directive or Validator must have the same visibility setting as the collection.
    • Private Collection: Can only enable private Directives and Validators owned by you.
    • Organization Collection: Can only enable Directives and Validators shared with that organization.
  • Review Organization Mapping: If you change the collection's visibility or organization, incompatible custom checks will automatically be disabled and hidden from the active scan configuration.
