Test a Request

Before launching a full-scale scan, you should verify that your requests are configured correctly. The request tester allows you to send an isolated request to your target API to check network connectivity, request syntax, and authentication status without spending scan credits.

Testing a Single Request

  1. Navigate to the Collections page and select the collection containing the request you wish to verify.
  2. Select the request from the left-hand requests sidebar.
  3. Review the request details in the main pane (Method, URL, Headers, and Body).
  4. Click the Test button in the top-right corner of the request details pane.
  5. Fuzzing Hero will dispatch the request to your target host. If you have authentication set up for this collection, the configured credentials will be automatically applied.

Reviewing the Test Results

Once the test completes, Fuzzing Hero displays the transaction response details on the right side:

  • HTTP Status Code: A successful request typically returns a 200 OK or another 2xx success code.
  • 401 Unauthorized: Indicates that your authentication settings are missing, expired, or incorrect. Review your Authentication Settings and try again.
  • 404 Not Found: Double-check the URL path, query parameters, or target host configurations.
  • ERR/Network Error: Indicates that Fuzzing Hero could not establish a connection to your target server. Verify that the host is accessible online and not blocked by local firewalls or IP access lists.
